Allow me to share a story about how I was able to connect with my niece on her birthday
and how that gave me ideas for how we can all stay connected during the pandemic.
My family and I decided to purchase and deliver donuts to my niece for her birthday. First thing in the morning, we went down to the local donut shop to pick them up and as we were pulling up into our driveway after coming back, we were honking the horn, screaming, yelling, and having a great time. Of course, that caught her attention, so she came outside, where we sang “Happy Birthday” to her (keeping six feet apart, of course). We had a short conversation with her before saying we loved her and would talk to her soon.
That got me thinking: What other things can we do to make people feel special during this time? How can we connect and stay in touch with our loved ones?
