    Why Discount Brokers Aren’t Worth the Savings They Promise

    The market’s still going crazy and homes are selling with multiple offers. If you’re a homeowner, you might be thinking you can just throw your home on the market at any price and buyers will be lining up down the street.

    That’s not the case. You can’t just put your home on the market and hope to sell for top dollar without doing it the right way.

    Here’s an analogy for you. You’re looking to sell a used car and you can either go to the Parsons Luxury Vehicle lot or the discount lot down the street who doesn’t do a whole lot of business. For purposes of selling a home, the luxury vehicle lot is the Parsons Real Estate Team and the discount lot is any old discount real estate brokerage.

    The discount broker is going to try and convince you that you can just take some pictures with your iPhone, list the home, and buyers will come. They do come, but when they come, they notice the home hasn’t been properly prepared or maintained. They start to wonder if this is the house for them and their family and eventually, they walk away.

    The house down the street has an identical floor plan with the same price, but the Parsons Real Estate Team is listing it. We’re going to give our sellers some better advice. We’ll apply a fresh coat of paint, stage it, declutter, and make the home feel nice, warm, and inviting. We’ll have a line out the door with people who want to buy the home right then and there.

    Just because our market is hot doesn’t mean you can throw it on the market and hope buyers will come. You still need to go through the steps to make it look professional and appeal to the highest number of buyers.
